Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona has had an unwavering commitment over the past few months of the COVID-19 pandemic to ensuring the absolute safety of our staff, customers, and donors. The challenge of accomplishing this feat during such unusual circumstances left us curious and searching for a set of tools or best practices that we could incorporate into our daily operations and secure some peace of mind.
We were honored to be acknowledged by Arizona State Governor Doug Ducey as an essential business on April 3, 2020. We also realized that, unless our staff felt good about returning to work and our customers and donors realized we had taken all the right measures to create a safe environment in our stores, being open would not matter.
When we met the Rose Law Group and expressed our concerns and commitments, an idea was born: HealthyVerify Certification. Thanks to a collaboration with some of the top minds at Barrows Neurological Institute and Arizona State University, we are proud to be the first business to fully implement Healthy Verify procedures across all of our retail operations.
Our staff have been eager to return and follow all the new requirements in their workplace. Moreover, our customers have been adhering to the new standards and shopping like never before. On behalf of our entire team, I cannot recommend the HealthyVerify Certification process enough. You will be supported by an outstanding team of professionals and the result will be standards and best practices which meet or exceed CDC guidelines that you can proudly share.
Please let me know if you have any questions or if you would like to hear more about our experience with HealthyVerify.
“I’ve been in the thrift retail business for over 20 years and I’ve helped design and implement hundreds of standard practices. The HealthyVerify process has been smooth and easy for our team members to understand and adhere to – even under such unusual circumstances. Working with the HealthyVerify team to customize the process to meet our business practices was a true collaborative effort.”
– Dan Kellett, VP of Retail
“As Chief Operating Officer, it is my job to focus on the wellbeing of our team members. In the new COVID-19 environment my desire to step up our safety efforts and exceed CDC standards was just amplified. It is hard to express the peace of mind that I have now, knowing that our team members, donors, customers are working, donating, and shopping in a HealthyVerify Certified facility. I can attest that the standards are easy enough to implement that you will be surprised at the staff engagement and buy-in as you roll out the new way of doing business.”
– Jackie Halleen, Executive VP and COO
